Registered Psychotherapist and NEST Founder

Founder of the NEST, Suzanne Fani is an acclaimed speaker, leading Registered Psychotherapist and an EMDR Internationally Certified therapist with over 25 years of experience.

She holds a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology Counselling from the University of Toronto and a BA (Honours) in Psychology and Liberal Studies from Brock University. She specializes in complex trauma, PTSD and Traumatic Bereavement.

Suzanne has worked in both private and public settings including schoolboards, hospitals, universities and community mental health agencies. She has extensive experience in Employee and Family Assistance programs, providing employers and their employees with crisis intervention, case management, and critical incident defusing and debriefings. She has worked with families, couples and individuals to provide real, solution-focused therapy.

Although front-line workers are her priority, she also treats individuals who are victims of crimes and traumatic events. In her work on traumatic loss and grief, she has served as a trainer/facilitator for Hospice Niagara Grief Program and a coordinator/host for the Hospice Foundation of America: Living with Grief Series for several years.

A lifetime learner, she has intensive training in many aspects of trauma including treatment of complex trauma, therapy with military veterans and first responders, brainspotting, EMDR, and developmental and relational trauma.

During her leisure time, she spends time with family, gardens and enjoys the natural world.
