NEST Trains in EMDR Therapy for 911 Professionals

The NEST team gathers for specialized training

Supporting Emergency Workers With Specialized Care

On January 30, the NEST team came out for training on the use of EMDR-informed therapy with 911 professionals. The team learned about the unique challenges of the work and the impact on mental health faced by these unseen first responders in a crisis.

The course is designed by two 911 professionals — APCO International (The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) and NENA (The National Emergency Number Association) — to provide specialized insights and awareness into the 911 community.

NEST EMDR members who completed the course are now listed among the EMDRIA Find An EMDR Therapist® Directory as having achieved training in cultural awareness for 911 professionals.

If you’re a 911 professional or know someone who could benefit from this training, please reach out to us today.
