A Warm Welcome to First Nations and Inuit
We’re pleased to announce that NEST is accepting First Nations and Inuit clients from the NIHB program.
NEST is now an eligible mental health provider to indigenous and aboriginal clients through Canada’s Non-Insured Health Benefits program.
Under the program, an eligible provider can provide 22 hours of individual or group counselling to eligible clients on a fee-for-service basis. On a case-by-case basis, additional hours in the same calendar year may be provided.
The coverage is for eligible health benefits not available through provincial or territorial health insurance, private insurance plans, or other publicly-funded plans or programs.
For more information on specific benefit policies and requirements, refer to the NIHB Program for First Nations and Inuit: Mental Health Counselling Benefits Guide.
Is this an emergency?
Please note that NEST mental health counselling is not an emergency service.
